Camera, lights, ACTION!
That´s the message at noSWeat as the centre launches it´s multi–media journalism courses.
With the latest state–of–the–art technology students now find they are getting the top training in the industry in multi–media skills, insisted upon by many a newspaper editor in this day and age.
Using video cameras, tripods, sound booms, story boards, and computerised editing equipment both newspaper and magazine students compile near–broadcast standard news and feature pieces.
Ian Miles, former newspaper snapper turned video man, said: "I have found that noSWeaters produce some excellent work.
"It´s a pleasure teaching them. They come back with some excellent stuff."
The class is divided into editorial teams of around three or four, each which then go out to dig out interesting and visual news and features.
The recent arctic weather to hit the capital and the country as a whole made for some interesting filming and quotes.
The state of the economy and the effect on local shops and business was the subject of another group´s filmic offering.
The groups work together on an idea for a film, prepare a story board, go out and film the material and then return to the central London journalism school.

There they cut and splice the film, do pieces to camera, noddies and cut–aways resulting in some top quality product, all under Ian´s watchful eye.
Course director and noSWeat founder, Stephen Ward, said: "Ten years ago when noSWeat started the internet age had barely dawned.
"Now we are living in the multi–media era and noSWeat prides itself on being up with the times and able to offer the very latest in journalism training.
"We are proud of the facilities we have here and, of course, of the talent of our selected students."
Examples of the students´ work is available in the college for visitors and those enquiring about or applying for the course.
These pieces are also up–loaded on to a special internet site with restricted access for students and tutors.
All equipment is provided free–of–charge as part of the course fees, including a complimentary DVD for students to take away with them.
